Area seniors who would like to participate in recreational and learning activities in the company of other seniors should consider the Adult Day Program offered by Hawthorne Seniors Care Community.

This is a home support service that provides a variety of therapeutic recreation and social activities to seniors happy to remain in their own homes but who may feel housebound or isolated.

The focus of the program’s many activities is on health and wellness. These Therapeutic Recreation activities include Care Fit (falls prevention exercise groups), current event discussion groups & reminiscing, cultural celebrations, intergenerational programs, Java Music Club, trivia, games, cards, baking, and crafts.

The Adult Day Program runs Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For caregivers looking after their loved one, the Adult Day Program can offer valuable respite time.

Eligibility for Day Programs and other suppport services is determined by the Fraser Health Authority.
