Hawthorne Strategic Priorities (2024–2027)
Hawthorne’s strategic priorities reflect our deep commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the seniors we serve, our team, and the broader community. Projections indicate that the number of older seniors (aged 85 and over) is expected to rise significantly, particularly between 2031 and 2050, as the baby-boom cohort enters this age group. As this demographic shift occurs, the demand for high-quality seniors’ services and care is increasing rapidly. Our strategic priorities are centered on ensuring we remain responsive, resilient, and prepared to provide the services, care, and support as client needs and funding levels change.

Revenue Diversification
Our core operations are made possible through essential funding from Fraser Health, which enables us to deliver consistent, high-quality care and support every day. However, to expand our impact and meet the growing needs of our community, we must diversify our revenue sources. By actively pursuing philanthropic partnerships, grants, and other income-generating opportunities, we can strengthen our ability to maintain and refresh our ageing infrastructure, increase programming and activities, and continue in our delivery of exceptional care and service.
Organizational & Leadership Capacity
Developing strong leadership at every level of the organization is another priority we are focused on. This includes building a skilled and diverse Board of Directors and strengthening leadership and management capabilities across all program areas. Just as importantly, we are committed to supporting our frontline staff—ensuring these everyday heroes have the training, resources, and recognition they need to thrive in their roles and continue providing outstanding care to the residents, tenants, and clients of today and for years to come.
Infrastructure & Program Strategy
We are taking a strategic and future-focused approach to how we use our physical spaces and deliver services. This includes ensuring our site is well-positioned for potential redevelopment opportunities when they arise. At the same time, we continue to prioritize person-centered care by shaping our infrastructure and programming around the unique needs, preferences, and dignity of each resident.
From planning capital improvements to enhancing daily activities and services, our goal is to create an environment that fosters comfort, independence, and a strong sense of community. By aligning our physical assets and programs with these values, we are laying the groundwork for both present-day excellence and long-term sustainability.
